From Desi Baytan PhotographyAmy and Jon love to travel and have been to many corners of the world. When it comes to choosing a location for their wedding, their heart fell for an intimate, charming garden nestled in the San Juan Capistrano, a beach side town with old world Spanish influence.

Various shades of lavender mixed with peach and light green complimented the red brick wall backdrop of the Franciscan Garden. Amy added many personal touches to the decor of the wedding. Amy created a collage filled with memorable photos, hand painted signage and most impressive of all, she repurposed an old salvaged window with hand-written names of the guests as the seating chart. I especially had tons of fun photographing Amy and Jon and friends writing “love” with sparkers at the end.

From the Bride…My father works for airline industry and I’ve been fortunate enough to travel around the world. When I started dating Jon I was happy to find out he too enjoyed traveling. The pictures we used on the tables were pictures from when Jon and I travelled together in Europe. I made the table numbers using old map print paper from Joanne fabrics. We used some small decor from Found Vintage like books and globes and suitcases. Jon enjoys photography as well so we used vintage cameras for a nice touch. We wanted a simple feel nothing too over the top, as we are pretty low key. I fell in love with The Mission after seeing other wedding photos online and love the charm of San Juan Capistrano. And the Franciscan Gardens, which is nestled in the heart of San Juan Capistrano, fit perfectly for our taste. I think it was a match for our small wedding of 74ish guests. It’s got a laid back feel with its beautiful courtyard, small fountain, and brick walls.
