From the Bride… Brent and I share a passion for amazing food and wine; in our five years of dating, we’ve taken numerous trips to wine regions up and down California. It seemed a perfect fit to invite our family and friends to experience something that we had enjoyed over and over throughout our relationship. We had visited Healdsburg the year before the wedding, not surprisingly on the tail end of our engagement trip! One afternoon while sitting high on a ridge, we looked at each other, the beauty of the setting, and knew that we had honed in on the place for our celebration; it only took one trip to their property to know that we found the perfect place for our nuptials. Copain had been amongst our favorite wine producers for some time, they were gracious to host our wedding, and their coordinator was simply awesome.

We decided from the beginning what was important to us; a heartfelt ceremony with our close friends and family, amazing food, and a lot of dancing. Brent’s childhood friend Adam delivered a ceremony that, along with our guests I’m sure, we’ll remember fondly for years to come. The winery at Copain is absolutely stunning, and the views don’t really need much competition. With that in mind, we kept the décor and the color palette simple. White flowers in milk glass vases that my girlfriends and I collected, neutral linens (runners handmade by my mother-in-law), and little else. You can see in our pictures that guests spent the night lounging in the Adirondack chairs, mesmerized by the scene.

In the end, we both could not be happier with the celebration. The wines were amazing, the food was delicious, and the company was even better. We kept the guest list small and intimate, not an easy feat, but we are happy with the way it turned out. By the end of the weekend, everyone seemed to know each other and it felt like our families all grew together. Our advice would be to know what is important to you, spend your time and energy on only those things, and don’t stress the rest. When else will you have the most important people in your life, in one place, at one time? At the end of the day, you’re married to your best friend, what’s better than that?
