From Sixpence for your Shoe… The overall inspiration for the wedding decor was a New England seaside meets California sunshine fanciful soiree. Amelia and Ryan are a young and fun-loving couple who chose to infuse their playful sides into the overall design of the wedding while still maintaining a sophisticated backdrop, pairing with Ryan’s parent’s gorgeous home. The original color scheme of “no color scheme” evolved into neutrals of gray, taupe and blush, all blending seamlessly into the setting, with accent pops in Victorian Lilac and Vibrant Lemon.

Amelia’s gorgeous Rivini gown and Jimmy Choo shoes were a nod to her love of fashion and a bit Hollywood, while Ryan and the guys were dapper in taupe suits and colorful Vineyard Vines ties. The couple wed in a personalized and intimate marriage ceremony in the quaint Saint Ann’s Episcopal Church, and then departed to arrive at the reception by boat, as Ryan’s family loves the water and lives on it.

As guests gathered poolside for the cocktail hour, they were greeted by whimsical and sunny yellow and blue pinwheels with Amelia and Ryan’s monogram attached, along with Foxon Park sodas, a Connecticut product they love. In addition, guests picked their escort cards hung on classic New England shutters and stopped to sign the guest book, Amelia and Ryan’s surfboard, which they had flown back with from California! Guests sipped on raspberry mojitos, the signature cocktail a favorite family recipe, and noshed on classic New England raw bar fare, served from the family’s kayak and a sate two-way station, a tribute to Amelia’s heritage.

As guests entered the soaring Sperry Tent, elevated from the landscape, overlooking the Connecticut River, vibrant and eclectic florals in mix and match vessels, silver saturn chargers and rich purple lamour napkins sat atop finely dressed long tables in muted yellow and gray. As the night progressed, guests danced to tunes from the Men in Black band, under Amelia and Ryan’s monogram projected onto the tent canopy, before the evening came to a close with an Asian lantern release, dockside. The night ended in a splash as the entire bridal party took to the pool in one big leap.

Amelia and Ryan’s wedding day could not have been more fitting for them, their personalities, and their love of both their East and West coast homes and lives.
