Romantic Pink & Green Wedding at Bald Head Island Club

There are romantic weddings, and then there is this love-filled beauty of a day at the Bald Head Island Club, which is sort of the epitome of romance with soft pink and green hues, amazing paper goods from Swiss Cottage Designs and a whole lot of beautiful florals from Kim Fisher Designs.  In other words, it’s a love-fest overload, all captured in breathtaking images by Theo Milo.  See them all here.

From the Bride… I haven’t lived in North Carolina in over ten years, but when I got engaged in July of 2012 the only place that felt right to get married was the Carolinas. My husbands family is in Michigan and our friends are scattered throughout the Midwest and up and down the East Coast, so we wanted to pick a location that people would see as a mini vacation. Since we only get to see our own families and close friends a few times a year, it was also important to spend time with them the entire weekend. When I came across the Bald Head Island Club my mind was pretty much made up. Who wouldn’t want to be on an island with all of their favorite people for 72 hrs? Luckily, my husband agreed and after a trip to the island in September 2012 my parents were on board, too.

The island in itself is in my opinion one of the most special places in the Southeast. The mix of palm trees, peaceful beaches, and old oaks with spanish moss create the perfect backdrop for a wedding. The “golf carts only” rule is an added bonus. Once you step off the ferry it is impossible not to be relaxed. After meeting Shauna at the Bald Head Island Club, we were immediately put at ease and the idea of planning a destination wedding seemed within reach. Since I am originally from the western part of NC, I really leaned on Shauna to help give suggestions on local vendors. I was amazed at the amount of talent in the surrounding areas, especially Wilmington, NC. The first vendor that I booked after reserving the club was Theo Milo. His photographs are the perfect combination of classic and modern. With the Club and Theo on board our theme pretty much fell into place and selecting vendors from that point came easy. We knew we wanted the wedding to be classic and romantic with a blush, gray, and sage green color scheme. It was also important that the entire weekend especially our wedding day be very relaxed and not too formal.

Looking back on our wedding weekend it kind of feels like I was floating on a cloud the whole time and I 100% have our location to thank for that. The extended time that we had to relax on the beach, eat delicious meals, and celebrate with our guests was by far the best part of the weekend. The wedding itself was just the cherry on top.
