From the Bride… Once upon a time, on a bright sunny Providence day, I walked into my undergraduate calculus class at Brown and there was Brian. The rest is history and we’ve been together ever since. We’ve spent the last ten years as nomads moving around to over six different states, chasing down jobs, degrees, and each other. When it came time to choose a place to get married, the only place that made sense, the only place that has felt like home for us is Rhode Island.

The only thing that we knew when we began the planning process was that we wanted an outdoor wedding with a quaint, rustic, chic style. We searched far and wide from Providence to Newport, Jamestown, and Little Compton for a venue. When we arrived at the Cove Cabin at Mount Hope Farm, which is at the end of a beautiful long, winding, wooded road, we knew instantly that this was the place. The view from the Cabin is stunning as it overlooks Mount Hope Bay. It was exactly the type of setting we were looking for.

After we settled on the venue, I found myself completely overwhelmed with what I needed to do next. I was getting bogged down in little details and starting to procrastinate because I didn’t want to deal with having to make decisions. I needed some hand-holding to get me motivated. Enter Sarah True—the best decision I made in this whole process. Sarah is the kind of person who just beams warmth and laughter around anyone she meets. Her patience and laid-backedness were exactly what I needed to tame my sometimes up-tight, neurotic, bridezilla moments. She put together a varsity lineup of vendors including Jennie Fresa, Paper Moss, Petal Floral Design, Everthine Bridal, Michelle Gardella Photography, and Sassafrass Vintage to help me develop and refine the vision that I had for my wedding day.

The second best decision that Brian and I made was to do a first look with our photographers before the ceremony. Having those few minutes all to ourselves, to soak in the meaning of that day before we were surrounded by all of our guests helped alleviate the nervous anticipation without taking away from the excitement of what was about to happen.

One of our favorite parts of that day was the incredible jazz band, Lapis Luna, that really made the reception and got people moving. Our guests enjoyed cocktails, dinner, and an impressive customized dessert table catered by Blackstone Caterers. We were really blown away by the food –we made a point of eating our dinner and sampling everything at the dessert table– and so were our family and friends.

Sarah’s talent, energy, and creative styling ideas took our wedding from average to out-of-this-world amazing! Our wedding day was all we could have asked for and more.
