There’s nothing like the magic in the air the night before Christmas. It’s a special kind of magic that gets us giddy unlike anything else. So when Something Gold Photography, Juniper Designs, Leslie Herring Events and a crew of fabulous vendors sent over this shoot celebrating the spirit of the season, we knew I’d be just the thing to kick your Christmas Eve off right. Get ready, SMPers. It’s about to get very merry up in here.
Something Gold Photography… This all began when a gorgeous, red velvet, tea-length dress in a magazine caught my eye. It was so elegant, yet trendy. My mind took off and created an elaborate story, and I knew then I had to execute it.
The story is about a stylish couple getting ready to have an intimate Christmas dinner with their close friends. As they finish the beautiful tablescape and place the last few ornaments on the tree, the young man surprises his girl by getting down on one knee for an early Christmas gift. He does so knowing that their closest friends will arrive shortly to celebrate!
When I proposed the idea to Leslie, of Leslie Herring Events, she jumped from her chair and instantly suggested this shoot take place at The Exchange. I could not have imagined a better backdrop to this couple’s urban, yet elegant Christmas dinner party. Leslie brought together some outstanding vendors, giving her styling expertise to help tell the story.
I felt honored as other amazing vendors came on board to help execute this shoot. IES nailed the ambiance with their magical lighting, while Running Wild Catering made a fantastic meal I wanted to eat myself! Leslie and Kelsey at Touies Design created perfection for the wine labels, invitations, gift tags, place settings and so much more!
While I wanted the scene to have an urban feel, I also wanted to showcase the couple’s love for traditional holiday decorations. Allison, owner of Juniper Designs, exactly understood my vision and created a sumptuous tablescape draped with beautiful greenery, which perfectly highlighted the Christmas spirit. I am so honored to have worked with such talented vendors who came together to tell this story perfectly. Now I’m counting down the days to Christmas!
