Byron Beach Cafe Wedding

With temperatures hovering just around freezing and snowflakes threatening to fall at any minute (yes, even in Las Vegas), this gorgeous Byron Bay affair is a welcome addition to my Tuesday evening.  Because not only is it chock-full of sun-filled (+ beautiful) images captured by Nick Evans, it’s one of those joyous occasions you just can’t get enough of.  Think smiling faces and hugs for everyone.  Don’t waste another minute and get your pretty on right here.

From Nick Evans Photography… Bridget and Adam chose Byron as the base for their wedding – a location close to their hearts, one where Bridget had spent many a family holiday growing up. Byron Bay is one of those places that always seems to turn on some magic. The stunning scenery, a calm peaceful oceanside setting and some amazing weather all combine into something special.

A morning ceremony (11am) at the stunning Fig Tree at Byron located on top of a hill overlooking Byron Bay with views to the lighthouse, was followed by a lunch time reception at the Byron Beach Cafe with 60 of their closest family and friends. After some heartfelt speeches we took a quick stroll down to the beach to catch some photos with an amazing sunset.

From the Bride… We got engaged in September 2012 and had been planning on getting married in May 2014. In February this year, we just decided that that was too far away and we really wanted to get married sooner. May is one of the most beautiful months in Byron Bay, so we thought why not get married this May, which was in 3 months’ time. We chose the 17th as we wanted a Friday wedding and a Friday wedding meant that we could enjoy the whole weekend with our family and friends.

My parents have a holiday home in Byron Bay that we always holiday at and it is a very special place for us. We wanted to have a destination wedding with lots of events planned over the weekend where both of our families could really get to know each other and Byron Bay was the perfect spot.

We had a morning Ceremony at The Fig Tree Restaurant in Ewingsdale NSW followed by a lunch at The Byron Beach Café and then we had an after party at my parent’s holiday home in Lawson Street, Byron Bay.

I wanted an all-white wedding with a touch of Navy! I love an elegant and simple style and wanted to have simplistic decorations to heighten the appeal of our surroundings.  The weather was incredible, we could not have asked for a more beautiful day. We had an outdoor wedding so it was a bit of a risk with the horrible weather that we had been having recently but we truly were blessed that day.
