It may sound funny, but whenever I see a wedding from a team of talents like this bunch, I get a bit nervous. Call it star struck. Because I just know I’ll never be able to put words to Joy De Vivre‘s amazing design or proclaim my love of TEAM Hair & Makeup‘s work in a way I know they deserve. They are true artists. From Joy de Vivre….Ann Marie and Hunter met nine years ago while both were attending Loyola Marymount University. Hunter is originally from Laguna Beach,Ca and Ann Marie grew up in Ojai, Ca where they would later celebrate their wedding day. Hunter admired Ann Marie at a distance for months, curious about the cute brunette with oversized sunglasses. Through their mutual friend, Tara, Ann Marie began to learn more about this mysterious Hunter fellow. Nicknamed “McGiver” because he was the ultimate handyman, jack of all trades, cross country runner with a passion for the ocean. After waiting patiently for the right moment to ask Ann Marie out to dinner, he did just that. Both nervous and intimidated by the ideas of one another built up in their minds, Hunter took Ann Marie out to Sushi in Venice Beach. Not long into the date the nerves settled, intimidation turn into admiration, and they were just two young people falling in love. Ann Marie realized that beneath Hunter’s serious exterior was a sensitive and intelligent man. Hunter told me that Ann Marie was his first true love, joking that he waited 21 years for that dinner date with Ann Marie. In the years that followed, through graduate school, the ups and downs of life’s journey, Ann Marie and Hunter have become stronger, wiser and more patient. Most important, they love each more with each passing day.
Their first date at Wabi Sabi was nine years ago. They have been best friends ever since. They now live in their first home in Laguna Beach, Ca where Hunter works as an acquisitions manager for a commercial real estate investment and development company and Ann Marie finds joy in her work as a marriage and family therapist.
Owned by the bride’s mother, this beautiful eco estate on eight acres nestled in Ojai, California, is nicknamed the Shangri-La of Southern California. With 300-degree open mountain views, this true eco-home is set against the backdrop of a 2 acre certified organic farm and CSA (community supported agriculture). Some of the wedding menu, including the organic chickens, were farm raised with love on site giving this wedding that farm-to-table feel. Sharing their ‘I do’s’ on this family owned and loved property made this beautiful celebration even more sentimental.
