Colonial Williamsburg Fall Engagement Session

This engagement session from A Lovely Photo just makes me feel cozy. It could be the gorgeous setting of Colonial Williamsburg or the stylish fall frocks or perhaps even that lovely autumn light – but I am pretty sure it’s obvious love these two cuties share that is giving me the warm and fuzzies this morning, and it doesn’t get better than that. See even more here.

From A Lovely PhotoI am so thrilled to share these engagement portraits with you! Kyle and Grace are super sweet and absolutely adorable together. They are both William & Mary graduates, and wanted their engagement session taken on campus and the historic downtown area. This was the perfect fall afternoon to run around town and have fun. Grace and Kyle are getting married next August with a ceremony at the Wrenn Chapel, and a reception following at the Williamsburg Winery. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding day, I just know it is going to be absolutely fabulous!

From the Bride…First, we were married. Second, we were roommates. Now, we’re soulmates. We met at the College of William and Mary playing ultimate frisbee. Kyle was on the men’s team, Grace was on the women’s team, and we were good friends for a few years. As a joke one Valentine’s Day, Kyle “proposed” and Grace said yes! After that, the longstanding joke was that we were husband and wife anytime we were together.

Then, the summer after Kyle graduated, Grace needed a place to live, so we spent the summer as roommates in Williamsburg. That summer, we became best friends.

Before the next semester when Grace would be a senior and Kyle would start graduate school, we both spent time at home, apart from each other. The funny thing was, Kyle missed his “wife,” and Grace missed her “husband”—a lot. Shortly after returning to school, we started dating, and haven’t looked back.

After dating for four and a half years, we were in Washington D.C. doing a Ravenchase pubs and puzzles scavenger hunt. After dominating the scavenger hunt (and with a little liquid courage), we walked to the Washington Monument where Kyle dropped to one knee. We have been engaged now for eight months and are looking forward to the rest of our lives together.

We want to get married in Williamsburg because it is where we became best friends and fell in love.
