St. Augustine Wedding from Laura Yang Photography

I love the rain.  Like love, love, love the rain.  It’s refreshing, romantic and cozy… and when it comes to Big Day celebrations, in my world, the more rain the better.  So the little downpour that occurred mid-ceremony in this sweet St. Augustine affair?  Pretty much perfect, and the kind of unexpected surprise that makes this day truly unique.  See so much more captured by Laura Yang in the full gallery.

From Laura Yang Photography… They came from out west, where it rarely rains, to the Sunshine State for a cozy wedding with just their closest family members. So, naturally, the skies opened and the heavens poured down on them right in the middle of their courtyard ceremony. They simply slipped under some umbrellas and ducked inside the Old City House Inn’s dining room, where they finished off their vows — with the restaurant’s guests to cheer them on.

In spite of the literal storms they had to face, this relaxed, intimate wedding was a dream of a day. From the skeleton key theme — taken from the couple’s first meeting, at a Lock and Key party — to the gorgeous stationery created by the bride’s sister, Eileen Tan, to the sweet father-daughter first look and the couple’s portraits around the puddled cobblestones of St. Augustine, everything fell perfectly into place in spite of the weather. They rolled with the punches and simply soaked in this special time as they brought their two families together, and started a new one of their own.
