I can spot a Southern wedding a mile away. They’ve got charm that can’t be beat, and this Virginia stunner has it ozzing out of every nook and cranny. Think big open skies and a home-woven feel, all perfectly orchestrated by Ashley Baber Weddings. The one and only Katie Stoops snapped every color-happy moment and truth be told? We’re loving EVERY last bit.
From Katie Stoops… Erin and Judson knew they wanted a beautiful natural setting as a background for their June wedding. The grooms mother suggested the grounds of Pharsalia, close to where family owns land and about an hour from where Judson grew up. Erin wanted to make sure their guests could enjoy all the different areas of the property on the day of the wedding.
The ceremony was set on the front lawn, overlooking fields of apple orchards. Betsy Burton beautifully appointed the vintage mantle from Stonegate Event Rentals with wild flower arrangements at the altar. They recessed to ‘My Sweet Lord’ performed by Robbie Wells, my favorite recessional song so far!
The cocktail hour was held in the side lawn, under the large Magnolia and music by Bennie Dodd. Guests were then invited to move to the tented area adjacent to herb gardens for a stationed dinner from Avenue Foods. Small collections of floral arrangements were featured on the handmade farm tables that are available for Pharsalia brides to rent.
Attraction provided the evening entertainment, as well as Bennie Dodd sitting in for a fun Father/Daughter dance song. The polish tradition ‘Dollar Dance’ was also a hit for guests, looking for a swing with the bride!Erin and her mom made strawberry jam in the Spring as favors for guests as they left.
