Pasadena Wedding from Troy Grover Photographers

I have a soft spot for color. Also on that soft spot list? Anything and everything captured by Troy Grover Photographers. They’ve not only snapped the beautiful moments behind this Pasadena affair but the vibrant details too. Take those yummy florals by The Little Branch or the laid back yet totally beautiful open air reception from Jaime Byrne Events. It’s all one big mixing pot of pretty, and be sure to check out the gallery for even more!

From Jamie Byrne Events… Rich and Katherine’s main request was to get married outside under a beautiful tree. Surrounded by a lovely lawn and garden, I knew the gorgeous trees of the Fowler Lawn at Ambassador Campus would be a dream setting for them. Upon seeing the Lawn, the bride and groom knew immediately this was the place to make their commitment. With an elegant outdoor space surrounding one of Ambassador’s many fountains nearby, they had the perfect space for their stylish reception as well.

With the venue booked, I had the next challenge of incorporating Katherine and Rich’s request for natural and rustic elements into one design with their unique color palette of orange, slate blue, brown and cream. With the help of The (amazing) Little Branch and a very crafty bride who wanted to DIY many features, this wedding was filled with warm and personal touches that personified the bride and groom’s down to earth and all natural personalities. The Little Branch brought in many natural elements including birch branches and vases, and created stunning florals that poured out of the ceremony’s tree trunk and branches to capture the grandeur of this unique ceremony space. Sam Eames created very distinctive wood invitations that were truly one of a kind. And the candle favors made by Katherine were of wine corks from bottles drank by the couple over the years and added a rustic touch …. they were also an ode to the couples’ engagement which took place at a vineyard in Santa Ynez, CA. Bringing in burlap table runners and dark wood chargers were just the right finishing touches to complete the all-natural, yet refined look.

I loved how Rich and his groomsmen incorporated the color scheme while showing off their personalities with hipster bowties and socks. And with Katherine being a dancer, one of the highlights of the evening was the special mother/daughter dance which she choreographed. Event Professionals’ delicious family style meal served under the market lights made guests feel like they were enjoying an al fresco dinner in their friend’s backyard. A packed dance floor, late night sliders and pizzas, and a cigar bar rounded out the memorable evening which was perfectly captured by Troy and Aimee Grover.

Rich is known for wearing bow ties, so all of his groomsmen wore bow ties & they even incorporated bow ties into their invites (and used a bow tie to dot the “i” in their last name Leist). So cute. Also loved that the groom wrote a special message on the bottom of the brides shoes as her something blue.

Working with such a wonderful couple, made planning this wedding memorable and fun. So much love and thoughtfulness went into every detail of their special day because of their love for each other, their families and their desire to make their day unforgettable. It was an honor to work with such a delightful couple who are the epitome of soul mates.
