Orange Themed Wedding in Griffith Woods from onelove photography

onelove photography has done it yet again with this orange themed bash set in the woods of California. It’s as bright and coral-infused as can be (which we love), has a playful air about it (which we also mega-adore) and a group of talented vendors crafting their hearts out behind the scenes. Those talents include details and planning by A Savvy Event and pops of orange and pink blooms by PoppyStone Floral Design which all make for a woodland soiree we can so get behind. Whimsical

From the Bride… Our most joyous moments as a couple occur while being silly doing everyday things. At length, we discussed whether we needed or wanted a wedding, or whether we should elope. We wanted to have a wedding celebration, only if we could ensure that it would be casual, comfortable, fun, and “us” (a little bit quirky). When we found Griffith Woods, a clearing in a redwood grove, we knew that we had found a beautiful, yet blank slate to create the celebration that we wanted.

When selecting vendors and design elements, we picked what we both liked (e.g. “we both like 80s music, let’s get an 80s cover band”). When we met with vendors, we conveyed our vision of a whimsical, casual celebration that was full of bright colors, and trusted in our vendors to deliver (which they all did). When we thought through wedding logistics, we added aspects we wanted and cut what we did not want. This meant we did not have a formal wedding party, but had close friends get ready with us. This meant that we had my brother marry us and Colin’s brothers perform a reading, which was incredibly special for us. This meant that it was okay, even beautiful, for none of our stationary to match and for my imperfect handwriting to adorn the place cards and escort cards.

We are happy that we were simultaneously adamant about maintaining a certain casualness about our wedding and yet laissez-faire about imperfect details. This created the whimsical wedding in the woods that we envisioned and the space to still be a little bit silly. And, most importantly, this set the groundwork for an organically joyous celebration with our families, our friends and each other.

While we expected to have a wonderful time at our wedding, we did not expect that the entire weekend would be an embarrassment of riches and memories. At the end of the day, weddings are a celebration of the couple, their families and their friends. It is impossible to not have a fantastic amount of fun. So, my advice? Pick a few must-haves – ours were a casual, yet personal setting, tasty food, and dancing. Try not to sweat the rest of the wedding to-do list, which can be never ending. Remember that this is your wedding and there are no rules or requirements. And, when the big day rolls around, be fully ready to celebrate! After all, a wedding in which the bride and groom are beaming is always a success.
