Charming Rhode Island Outdoor Wedding from Lisa Frechette Photography

Lisa Frechette is filling our screens with serious pretty this morning by way of this adorable Rhode Island fête, and I just can’t thank her enough for it. It’s overflowing with all of my favorite things (bowties, coastal towns, pretty blooms) – it’s almost as though this Bride crafted this wedding just to make me smile. And although I know that is not the case, you can bet your bottom dollar that I’m smiling from ear to ear over here. See why here.

From LisaThis quaint and pictorial New England wedding features lovely outdoor elements, such as a cozy and picturesque courtyard ceremony and cocktail hour, complete with a tree swing! The reception decor was sprinkled with charming details highlighted by unique assemblings of mason jars and delicate vases brimming with a blend of soft yet sohisticated blossoms as floral centerpieces. Lovely bridesmaids with stylish accessories and polished, sleek groomsmen complimented a beautiful, graceful bride and her adorable, dashing groom. But not to be outdone by blooming bouquets and enticing hors d’oeuvres, the family and friends’ devotion and joy for the bride and the groom was the major player at this lively, fun and classy ocean state wedding.

From the Bride… I grew up spending endless days enjoying the beauty of southern Rhode Island, so I always knew that I wanted the setting of my wedding day to be in one of my favorite seaside towns, Narragansett, RI. Narragansett is a quaint coastal town that not only features beautiful homes and ocean views, but it also features one of the most beautiful working farms in all of Rhode Island. The Kinney Bungalow at Sunset Farm is a historic building dating back to 1899, and is unique and gorgeous in its own way. Highlighted by sweeping wrap around windows, beautiful dark wood and a staircase leading to the most beautiful reception location, I needed no further convincing that this was the perfect venue for my wedding. In addition to the distinctive look and beautyof the historic building, I fell in love with the charming tree swing situated out on the front lawn, the yellow orange sunsets that would cast down upon us during cocktail hour, and the rows of blooming blue and purple hydrangea bushes everywhere.

Once I found my Augusta Jones wedding dress, the vision for our wedding became crystal clear. Our preppy, shabby chic day was accentuated with shades of pinks, creams, ivories and pearl galore! I instantly knew the direction in which my wedding theme would go. Having created and designed my wedding sash with my florist (and good friend), I knew everything would fall together perfectly. The bridesmaid dresses and jewelry from J. Crew added the perfect touch of style showcased by my beautiful bridesmaids, my three younger sisters and my best friend. Homemade flower girl dresses from Ashley at Framboozle in Rhode Island added a bit of fashion whimsy to the elegant and fashionable bridal party attire. The men looked classy and sophisticated in their Joseph A. Bank navy blue suits, accompanied by their Tommy Hilfiger pink and ivory striped ties. Finally, the ring bearers were adorable and preppy in their Vineyard Vines apparel. I must say I had the most beautiful wedding party there is!

I envisioned my wedding day to be beautiful, leisurely and fun…and it was simply just that! Aside from the threat of strong thunderstorms (which incidentally never happened!) our day was absolutely perfect! Following our brief ceremony on the farm’s lawn, the outdoor cocktail hour was enjoyed with flowing food and drinks, while the indoor dinner buffet was quick and delicious….just what we wanted!

The dance floor was filled instantly following dinner, and was full for hours on end. Each and every guest danced and enjoyed themselves on our wedding day, which made us the happiest bride and groom then….and today! We imagined our wedding to be filled with love, friendship and laughter, and it really was. As the sun went down, the Kinney Bungalow became illuminated by soft lighting, and we danced the night away! I can honestly say it was the best night of our lives!!! (I wish we could do it all over again!)
