This Ojai Valley Inn wedding starts with really amazing paper goods which is right on par with a designer Bride who also happens to be the wedding invitation guru behind Bliss and Bone. The celebration that followed suit is a study in rustic with a good dose of modern styling from the ladies of Sterling Social and a romantic layer of white blooms by Brown Paper Design. An intimate dinner party in Venice Beach, California sparked the love story of Cindy and Carl. The beautiful couple, both inside and out, set off on a two year courtship that peaked with a romantic proposal on a cliff in Patagonia overlooking Lake Nahuel Haupi and the Andes Mountains. Nine months later, on a warm August afternoon, the two said “I do” in the breathtaking Herb Garden setting of the Ojai Valley Inn & Spa. Escorted by both her parents, Cindy made an unforgettable entrance with her custom-made, form-fitting gown. Carl met Cindy under a driftwood Chuppah draped in white chiffon and the two were married in an intimate Ceremony performed by Cindy’s older brother.
Guests were whisked off to the Ojai Valley Inn’s Red Barn location for the reception. The once rustic barn was transformed into an eclectic, chic outdoor dining experience featuring a dynamic blend of aesthetic elements. With a palette defined more by texture than color, earth-inspired elements mixed with modern accents created a one-of-a-kind environment. Distressed wood dining tables were adorned with natural burlap runners, sandblasted grape wood, and bleached antlers. Mirrored vessels filled with lush, white florals and accents of mercury glass votives added feminine touches to the décor. The clean, crisp design was balanced by the natural beauty of raw elements. The best part…custom designed and hand-made elements by the Bride. Cindy, the ultra-creative designer and owner of Bliss & Bone, developed a signature look for all of the paper and digital elements leading up to and for the day. Every detail was carefully considered, from hand stitched linen invites and letter press papel picado fans, to personalized lace-bound menus at the reception. Their guests were swept into the fantasy world that was Cindy and Carl’s wedding even before making their arrival in Ojai.
The raw barn space was transformed into a chic cocktail space for dancing. Unique groupings of modern and vintage furnishings were fused together to create a luxe lounge environment. White billowy drapery softened the barn space while various crystal chandeliers and hundreds of votive candles casted an amber glow as guests danced into the night. The newly married couple cut a simple black and white designed cake, while guests enjoyed a selection of macarons to satisfy their sweet tooth. It was an unforgettable night for all!
