I've got to come clean and admit that despite my complete adoration for the equestrian culture, I've been on a horse maybe twice in my life. But that doesn't meant that I don't wish that I had a little more jockey in my back pocket... so when a shoot like this one from Tanya List Design which is straight out of my dreams comes along, I let my brain do a little whisking away and I spend my afternoon with Life Images, living out my equestrian day dreams!

From the stylist... This lovely little equestrian styled photo shoot was inspired by the two models themselves. Kelly and Christian are real-life lovebirds as well as nationally raked eventing equestrian riders here in Canada (perhaps even one day making the Olympics.....I'm bragging a little because Kelly is also my baby sister).

I'm constantly amazed by their love for the sport and the physical strength and dedication that they give every single day. Since i'm a stylist and floral designer, I thought that it would be fun to get them out of the dirt, mud, horse hair... and horse poop... and give them a little "equestrian" makeover. It's really not too hard to make them look good, they make a striking couple just by their height alone, Kelly is 6 feet tall and Christian is 6'2. They are also two of the funniest, sweetest and easy going couple you could meet.

The location is actually the beautiful barn that Kelly trains at everyday called Raynham Stables. The owners Kara & Lindsay along with their daughter we amazing to work with. They pretty much gave us free run of the entire farm.

The design team (all from the Toronto Area) all worked hard together to get the shoot finished quickly. There was one of our wild Ontario summer storms about to blow in later in the day that we wanted to avoid). The whole day was so much fun, always fun to design photo shoots and to hang out with some great friends along the way.
