Half Moon Bay Wedding from Mirelle Carmichael Photography

When I heard there was an orange and grey nautical octopus wedding on the line up for today, lets just say I was more than a little curious. Sure, all great design elements, but I just could not, with all the wedding blogger power in my mind, picture it. Well consider me utterly amazed. Mirelle Carmichael Photography captured the soiree which is not only unique but quite possibly one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve laid eyes on!

From the photographer… Bringing something fresh and modern to the bridal table is Susan and Colby’s nautical wedding. Susan herself is a graphic designer and put together a very creative grey and white invitation suite centered around the couple’s ‘wedding octopus’. The colors of the day were in a grey and orange theme and focused on all things cool and nautical.

The bride herself wore a gorgeous lace Provonias gown and the rest of the bridal party wore grey with accents of orange. The groom and his attendants wore nautical rope boutonnieres. Susan taught herself how to tie rope knots which held the table numbers. The reception tables, housed in the Oceano Hotel’s giant tent were set with various lanterns filled with succulents and sea colored bottles with tiny blooms. Outside the tent guests were invited to enjoy lawn games giving a bit of a casual feel to the wedding atmosphere.

Aside from their amazing decor, one of my favorite moments from the day was when Susan opened her wedding gift from Colby. He had put together a map of San Francisco (where they met and currently reside) and noted places with significant moments, using only short phrases to identify each place!
