A Newport wedding like this one captured beautifully by Erin McGinn sits happily on the tippy top of my most favorite things list. Right next to long beach days and a cold glass of bubbly, a wedding like this seaside soiree makes me happier than I probably should admit. Modern and elegant, yet wonderfully casual at the same time – the vendors at the helm of this party created a vision of a day for this gorgeous family, and we get to enjoy every last favorite-worthy moment right here.
From Erin… Stephanie and Brad had their wedding at the lovely and very nautical Regatta Place in Newport, Rhode Island. Their adorable daughter, Olivia, served as the littlest flower girl for the day. Stephanie did a quick change into a shorter dress after the ceremony for a fun and flirty look everyone loved.
From the Bride… We chose to get married in Newport because we have both lived here for so long and rarely get the chance to sit back, relax, and take in all the beauty that surrounds us here everyday. I chose Regatta specifically because it is on the water and just gives off that “casual yet elegant” feel that I love so much and I think describes us well. Did I mention their food is amazing? We went with a nautical theme as I love sharp, bold colors (Navy, Orange, Yellow). Not being the most crafty of people I really depended on my vendors to bring everything to life for me and feel that I chose each one carefully after viewing their web sites and getting recommendations from other people. Semia’s flower arrangements are always big, beautiful & fully in bloom. Jenn Gonzalez is not only a friend but an amazing stylist (and I don’t trust my hair to just anyone). Jennifer Hodge is super talented and if I could hire her to do my makeup everyday I would. Erin McGinn… the only person on the planet that has produced photographs (plural) of Brad and myself that we instantly loved and have proudly displayed in our home. Roy McGill from Sweet Sophistications is the master of treats! He not only did my sister’s wedding at Ocean Cliff several years ago but also made a beautiful cake for my baby shower last year. Rob Ferraz along with the band “Get Lucky” were an easy pick! Get Lucky is one of my favorite local bands and they play at my establishment every month.
