From ErikaSamantha and Andy’s summer wedding took place at New Hampshire’s famous Castle in the Clouds–a picturesque historical estate notable for its mountaintop location high above the Lakes Region, and often literally in the clouds. This was definitely the case on their wedding day, when recent rain storms left us in a romantic, atmospheric cloud of fog drifting around the property. The day started with a first look at the beautiful “The Falls of Song,” which is a short hike off the main auto road. Samantha navigated the hike in 3-inch heels and her Maggie Sottero gown with poise and grace to find her groom waiting for her at the waterfall. Sam and Andy were engaged for only seven weeks before their wedding took place, and in that short period of time they were able to assemble a wedding team that utilized the talents and professional reach of mostly family members.

Despite proclaiming herself as “not a flower person,” the wedding bouquets as well as the wildflower arrangements in mason jars at the reception were all DIY by the bride with help from her maids. Sam and Andy also handmade the amazing rustic tealight holders for the reception using four-by-fours found at her parents’ home, staining them, distressing them with hammers, and drilling the holes for the candles. The barn reception resulted in a warm, inviting, casual celebration for their family and friends. [dotted]
