San Juan Capistrano Wedding from Captured by Aimee

There were so many moments in this San Juan Capistrano wedding at Pepper Tree Estate where I found myself squealing with joy. From the perfectly curated details to all the stunning florals by Meri Wagner of The Event Loft, and everything in between. It’s pure prettiness as seen through the talented lens of the lovely Captured by Aimee, and every last gorgeous moment is sitting right here in the full gallery of images.

From the Bride…Mike proposed in the fall at a gorgeous vineyard in Napa Valley. We knew we wanted to be married in the spring, which didn’t leave much time for planning! We wanted our wedding to be unique, romantic, and being true foodies at heart, had to have amazing food. We envisioned a day that would be about family, and love, and reconnecting with our loved ones. Our dream setting would have been a farm somewhere in Italy. I mean, isn’t that every girl’s dream?!  We decided to bring a little touch of Italy to the coast of California. It was through the fabulous Event Loft that we found our exclusive venue. It was oh so perfect in every way- from the open pasture, and elegant horses to the charming Mediterranean villa. The only thing it needed was a touch of “rustic glam” inspired design.

I wanted the natural beauty of the venue to speak for itself while adding rustic, vintage, and glamorous touches: from the vintage chandeliers I collected from the Rose Bowl flea market in Pasadena, CA, to the table number frames encrusted with pear shaped jewels to play off the shape of my pear cut engagement ring. I’ve always loved collecting beautiful vintage items, like wooden frames and decor, and was able to really incorporate a lot of my collection into the decor of our wedding. One of my favorite pieces is a hammered copper vase I picked up in Los Angeles. It paired so perfectly with the vibrant pink peony, and added a pop of color to the bar. Our planner Adina Verdult was the best. She added touches of her flawless design aesthetic to the table settings and aisle design. Not to mention the gorgeous presentation of the food.  I mean you can’t really go wrong with braised short rib and roasted root vegetables – yum!

I must say that seeing my bouquet for the first time was one of my most anticipated moments. Our florist Meri Wagner, along with Adina worked so hard on the design. I had found two very different styles I wanted to bring together, and Meri pulled if off fabulously! From the black and white anemones, to the peonies and succulents, it was just breathtakingly beautiful. I found my dress at one of those tiny hidden gem shops tucked away in the heart of Koreatown. A Chantilly lace and chiffon San Patrick gown. It was love at first sight. A modern classic, with tiny polka dots covering the chiffon, and a gorgeous silhouette. My belt was originally a necklace from J Crew, that we transformed by adding the ribbon. My grandmother lent me her grandmothers 1920s Swarovski Crystal earrings, a pair I have coveted since I was a little girl, always wanting to play dress up in them. We wanted to include our family and friends as much as possible, and one of my favorite ways we did this was displaying a photo line that was hung in the garden, where the reception was held.  It included photos of most of our loved ones throughout the years, and was really fun to watch everyone look through them. My sister/MOH created our guest book- a hand drawn “fingerprint tree” that everyone could stamp and sign their name. Our guests loved it, and really appreciated all of the work we put into the small details of our wedding.
