From the Bride… Troy and I met in 2007 and after years of endless questions from our family and friends, Troy finally popped the question four years later while holidaying in Bali. After scrolling through page after page of amazing weddings on SMP and in magazines for inspiration, I finally settled on a colour scheme of dusty pink, grey and ivory.

As we were to be married in winter, we wanted a venue that had an open outdoor feel yet be fully covered so that in the event that it did rain, our guests would remain both dry and warm. I found The Rydges hotel at a bridal convention I had attended and after speaking with their wedding coordinator Melissa, I knew I had found the perfect ceremony venue. Troy and I both love the beach and knew we wanted a venue that was close to the ocean. As soon as we viewed The Breakwater, we knew that was where we had to have the reception. The modern elegance of the Akoya Suite matched the vision we had for our wedding.  The fact that it had amazing harbour views was a huge bonus.

We selected table decor to compliment The Breakwater’s stunning ceiling chandeliers. For each table we had tall crystal centrepieces and matching crystal tea light candles to create a warm and romantic feel. I also wanted to add my own personal touch to the wedding so created the table numbers, boxed cupcakes with thank you tags and place cards for each table. In addition to this, I had also made all our wedding invitations, seating chart, signs and props for the photo booth.

Our flowers were incredible and after having the initial consultation with Amy from Lush Creations, I knew I was in great hands. From one simple inspiration picture I brought with me to the appointment, she 110% matched what I had in mind and the quality of her work was magnificent. My bouquet was overflowing with peonies, roses, parrot tulips, dusty miller and so much more. It was then all held together with ivory lace that perfectly matched my dress.

Our photographer Daniel worked so well with us and our bridal party. He had a great way of breaking the ice so that everyone felt super relaxed and this has completely translated to the pictures. The locations he chose were in one word, spectacular! We were incredibly lucky to be married on a beautiful sunny winter’s day in front of our family and friends.  We honestly could not have asked for anything more and can’t wait to begin our journey as husband and wife.
