When stunning rustic details mix and mingle with drop-dead gorgeous French Provincial-inspired stylings, magic happens.  Pure, unadulterated magic in the form of one dazzling inspiration shoot from the likes of The Bridal CollectiveLa Petite Miette and We Are Origami.  And not just any dazzling shoot... the kind of shoot that has you dreaming of catching the first flight out to The Land Down Under and setting up camp at the breathtaking Montrose Berry Farm, a place where pretty just seems to happen. From Dave of We Are Origami... This shoot was a collaboration between a handful of super talented and amazing vendors with our stylist, Jess Colley of The Bridal Collective, co-organizing the shoot with me. The theme of the shoot, 'Provincial Rustic Vintage,' was set on a beautiful farm, Montrose Berry Farm, about 90 minutes drive south of Sydney in the Southern Highlands Wine Country. The venue is very well known around New South Wales and is practically booked out almost all year round - it's a heritage listed homestead and the grounds are surrounded by the working berry farm that produces a wide variety of berries and artisanal berry products. Such an amazing venue - it's no wonder why every photographer wants to capture a wedding here.

We wanted to keep it 'real', down to earth and natural, with the focus on 'beauty is simple'.  Jess was absolutely tremendous in helping turn this shoot into reality. Her feedback and on-the-day styling to concept creation to co-ordination is unmatched. She sourced and styled all our props, centrepieces and furnitures as well as creating a cohesive theme around the Provincial Rustic Vintage concept to suit our location. We wanted to keep the look very contemporary and elegant with the base colours for our theme being browns, neutrals, wood and some greens. On a side note, Jess's wedding was published on SMP on Jul 24!

 Ali from La Petite Miette was one of those vendors that everyone loves! She supplied all the sweets and desserts. Not only do they look fabulous, but they tasted sooo good (yeah, we devoured it ALL at the end of the shoot). She supplied all of the deliciousness of the day; French Earl Grey Marshmallows, Chocolate Vanilla Bean & Olive Oil Macarons, Blackberry Pie Pops, Espresso & Hazelnut Meringues, Passionfruit, coconut and crumble dessert jars and of course, the beautiful cake!

Hannah of Three Sunbeams provided gorgeous bridal hair pieces for our models - all her pieces are handmade, using traditional millinery techniques, and the highest quality materials and embellishment around the world in which is has collected over the years. The head pieces on the day help created a timeless, utterly elegant look . She also helped co-ordinate the shoot.

Elaine of Butterfly Philosophy Flowers & Styling provided gorgeous fresh greens and clean white blooms for the brides and flower girls. Her florals are simply amazing... they made the entire session look extra beautiful with her excellent choice of native and soft florals. 

Melody of Mr & Mrs designed the perfect stationery, from invitations to place cards, to compliment the theme of the shoot. Jade of Jade Lee Hair & Makeup  + Vanessa of VH Hair were able to make our brides look extra stunning on the day, with attention to detail and 4 different looks in 2 hours! Amanda of Amanda Garrett supplied our stunning models with her absolutely gorgeous gowns on the day, the Theodora and Butterfly gowns. The dresses were to die for and it gave our provincial rustic theme a more glamorous type of vintage. Our photography team, David, Joe and Belle of We Are Origami captured all the amazing details of the day. Their presence and contribution was priceless.

From Jess of The Bridal Collective... The original idea for this shoot was inspired by its country location, Montrose Berry farm. The team from We Are Origami knew that they wanted to create a rustic setting but in a way that would shed new light on this theme. I had recently been inspired by the ‘white-on-white’ fashion trend and decided that the décor would have a fresh and modern feel that the colour white always brings. Being a country setting however, it was important to incorporate natural materials and textures. We played with twine, burlap and lace but in a way that was subtle and clean. The final product resembles a French provincial look in a truly Australian setting.

It was very important to me as a stylist to create something that I had not put together before and also to steer away from a heavily ‘vintage’ look. We kept the individual pieces as clean and crisp as possible whilst using crystal ware and glass to lighten the look. The gowns were especially important to achieve this look and Dave was able to source the perfect light, flowing materials to keep the look fresh and natural.

Social media also played a big role in bringing this look together as many of our vendors lived hours away. We were able to ensure that everyone was on the same page stylistically by sharing visual inspiration. It was very important for us to incorporate all of the little details that take wedding styling to an elegant level. Beautiful and intricate stationery along with handwritten calligraphy brought the finishing touch to our look. Ultimately what we wanted to achieve was a fresh take on a country wedding that can become a timeless canvas for vintage-loving brides.
