From Willow Rose EventsThis shoot is boho chic inspired, combining all the elements of a style of wedding we love – casual, organic, trendy, and all things floral. And lastly not forgetting, romance all around.

Settings: Barn was the perfect venue for us – a real barn with history behind it, in which it is still in its original form. We wanted to focus on a beautiful vintage sweetheart table setting, accented by little details that matters the most and having a floral arrangement that will stand out. The colours that inspired us were shades of red, pink, coral and some metallic gold as they reflect romance to us.  We wanted to have that little something special between the bride and groom, so we chose a customized handkerchief napkin that says “today I marry my best friend.” Gold iron rods chairs added the right vintage touch to the table. Instead of a Mr. and Mrs. sign to indicate the bride and groom at the sweet heart table, we decided to carry on the all things floral into their chairs, having little flowers to dress up the chairs.

Invitations: We knew right away when designing this shoot, that Anista Designs would be the one to do this for us. The vintage, romantic, almost hand painted like flowers invitations encompasses all aspects of this shoot.

Cake/Dessert table: One of the main things we wanted to do for the table is having a bride and groom’s cake. While we see a lot of groom’s cake that are of groom’s favourite things like sports etc., we beg to differ in this shoot. We wanted to design this shoot to show that a bride and groom’s cake can complement each other side by side, and show that a groom’s cake can be as trendy as the bride’s. The idea behind the cakes was to have a bride’s cake which had the floral theme, and a groom’s cake which is a simpler version of the bride’s. So instead of having the flowers, the groom’s cake was replaced by gold leaves.  Also to add to the natural look, we used branches spray painted in gold, and added cotton candy pieces to it, making them look like flower blooms. To complete the dessert table, we also wanted something different for the backdrop. The fabric wooden hearts and pegs were all handmade.

Dress/Look/Jewelry: We wanted a dress that would be comfortable, soft and elegant. Understated but not overrated.  Everything about the look of the bride was meant to be natural looking, so a natural peachy make up and natural curls. The different headpieces used here were inspired brides of different personal likes – but all still within the organic, romantic look. And lastly not forgetting, the rings – we wanted something different, something artistic. These rings were handcrafted by hand, making every piece unique. No one is exactly the same. The ‘imperfection’ of the ring is perfection in this case and completes the boho look.
