Summer Inspiration from Troy Grover

So we may have fibbed a bit. This shoot is technically a Spring inspired number but we whole heartedly believe it can be translated for the warm Summer months too; so we’re going with it. Photographed by Troy Grover, this number is toting details like a lemonade bar, wheat grass and fresh floral accents by Christine van de Water + Floral Occasions making it the kind of inspiration that works for any and all warm months. Plus the lemonade bar just might be our new favorite wedding detail. Have a look here for so much more.

And take a look at Brother’s Nelson & Co.’s gorgeous film for a behind-the-scenes peek!

For this Summer inspired bridal shoot, we wanted to feature the bright elements of the season. This included an abundance of florals, fresh garlands, and a refreshing lemonade bar. We chose to highlight the bride and her bridesmaids enjoying a beautiful afternoon in the gorgeous fields of San Juan Capistrano, California.

Set in the middle of orange groves and a sea of wildflowers, the wooden dining table was surrounded by a mix of vintage wooden chairs. A white battenberg lace table runner provided the perfect contrast against the rustic table. The battenberg lace is a unique design element we wanted to incorporate throughout the shoot, providing a twist on traditional lace. This accent was seen in the invitation suite and the table decor.

We also chose a variety of organic textures to compliment the beautiful asymmetrical floral centerpiece. The centerpiece and personal flowers captured our color palette of lavender, yellow, and white. Each individual place setting was set with its very own milk glass compote bowl filled with wheat grass, perfect for each individual place card. The ruffled yellow ombré cake was also set in a bed of wheat grass.

The bride wore a breathtaking lace dress that was complimented by an exceptional floral necklace made of fresh blooms. By her side were her beautiful bridesmaids in tea length floral dresses. Each of the girls took turns swinging on the custom built swing adorned with fresh greenery.

The sweet lemonade bar featured a custom “PUCKER UP” bunting draped between two birch posts. This charming beverage station invited guests to choose between two infused vodkas including fresh herbs and blackberries, allowing them to mix their very own spring thyme lemonade. Also displayed were customized limoncello liqueur favors, ready to sweeten any cocktail!
