Beverly Hills Wedding from Lane Dittoe Fine Art Photographs

If it wasn’t for the title of this wedding, I would swear it took place in the rolling hills of the English countryside. But alas, it’s none other than Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills; a gorgeous spot lost in time and one that fits perfectly with a garden affair. And this garden affair is heavy on the garden with crazy good florals by Flower Wild, vine topped tablescapes and details crafted by the Bride, S. Marie Zins and all so beautifully captured by Lane Dittoe. See even more here, in the full gallery.

From the Bride…My husband proposed to me by hiding a ring in a book behind pages of a poem he wrote.  He was so nervous that he spent mere nanoseconds on his knee as he asked me to be his wife.  We are both pretty shy people, so after he proposed we imagined for ourselves an intimate little wedding, private and secluded…. That is until we realized, quite joyfully I might add, how many people we needed to be with us on the day we said “I do.”  Our small wedding turned into an affair of around 100 guests and we figured if things were proceeding this way we might as well go out with a bang and in style.

As a florist I was fortunate to have a bit of wedding planning under my belt.  We were lucky to have 11 months to plan our event and it was incredible how quickly they went by !!!!   Most of my purchases and vendor selection came from online.  Wedding blogs and Pinterest were scoured daily for inspiration.  Etsy was my best friend.  I would be lying if I said it was stress free, but looking back it magically came together and every experience was worth it. Our favorite memories from the wedding are:  Hearing our friends, The Belle Brigade, cover a version of Bjork’s “All Is Full Of Love” during the ceremony, having tons of bougainvillea tossed on us after we kissed as well as dancing with our family and friends at the reception.

Processional Music: Prokofiev, Violin Sonata 1 Op. 80 3rd movement

Recessional Music: Louis Prima, Buona Sera

First Dance: Fred Astaire, Cheek to Cheek

My advice to brides would be:  Do not be afraid to ask for help from family and friends, they are a great resource…remember to enjoy every detail, every day during the planning process.  Your wedding is not your marriage, things will go wrong, have fun and make it your own!!!
