We can totally get behind a couple whose idea of the perfect wedding is heavy on the wine, food and fun. That’s a motto to live by and definitely one to wed by; especially when photographed by Erin Hearts Court. They have an eye for capturing the pretty details, those of which were crafted to perfection by NLC Productions and they also have a way of capturing all the fun, happy, love filled moments in between. This wedding is filled to the brimmy brim with both and you can see it all right here.
From the Bride…When Joe and I got engaged we knew immediately that we would tie the knot where it all started – in Santa Barbara. We wanted some of the traditional wedding elements without a traditional wedding feel. Instead, we envisioned hosting an elegant and intimate dinner party for our closest family and friends. We wanted to be true to who we are as a couple, which meant going heavy on the wine, food and fun. We were immediately drawn to the Mural Room at the Santa Barbara Courthouse as it provided the drama and beauty of a cathedral without getting married in a church, staying true to our “traditionally non-traditional” vision. Joe and I have both worked in nightlife for many years and were fortunate enough to host the reception at Blush Restaurant, owned by some of our closest friends. Blush is also located at the intersection of State Street and Ortega, the crosswalk that I awkwardly professed my love to Joe for the first time, making it truly the perfect location. Our wedding was Blush’s first wedding, leaving a pretty blank canvas for the development of everything from the menu to the décor. Executive Chef Mossin Sugich and I collaborated to translate our “elegant dinner party” vision into a six-course dining menu that celebrated our passion for food and wine. Suspended chandeliers, gorgeous white flower arrangements by NLC Productions and the loungey sounds of the Rat Pack created the perfect ambiance for our dream dinner party. After dinner, guests moved to the back of the restaurant to indulge in a dessert bar, including whoopee pies and a funfetti wedding cake, and a performance by Kelley James. We could not have been more blessed with the incredible vendors that helped bring our dream wedding to life.
