Rhode Island Wedding at The Meeting House from Weeno Photography

I am head over heels in love with this Bride and her whimsical, vintage affair. She is simply stunning, and the details of her day? They have that perfect local flair that makes me smile from ear to ear. It’s gorgeously New England, and after devouring all these picture perfect images from Weeno Photography, I feel like I could be best friends with this adorable duo. It’s a personality-packed pretty-fest, and you can see it all right here.

Weeno PhotographyThis wedding was a photographer’s dream! The bride was involved in each and every moment of the day, and truly trusted us as photographers to do our job. Since it was a wedding we had to fly to (we live in Portland) they included us in on every moment through the weekend. We took their engagement session where they rented two beach houses for all the friends and family (including us)! It was dreamy.

As for the wedding, it was truly Nicole and Leo. They knew what was important to them, and who was important to them and made sure they were both there. They hired mostly local vendors, and the food was all local. She was beyond excited for the ENTIRE pig they had for dinner. The bridesmaids were close friends, and Nicole had chosen a dress designer and each bridesmaids was able to choose their own material! It was great, because when it came time to put them on, all the girls felt like the dresses fit them, which in turn made them feel comfortable and happy! As for Leo, one of his closest friends is a woman. She put a blazer over her dress and stood up on his side with all the boys.

The couple’s First Look was taken at the wedding site, The Meeting House, where there are art sculptures around the grounds. It was a perfect spot for these shots! The ceremony was also special because they had a friend, officiate. It was funny, it was beautiful, and so personal. At the end, Nicole’s father played the trumpet as they walked out! It was so them– you could tell how happy they were to get married and how happy everyone around them was for them.

Onto the cocktail hour– Leo had brewed his own beer, and had it served all night long. They had four 8-10lb lobsters set up, and staff  cutting them and making lobster rolls, it was not only food… it was an experience. Everyone enjoyed the food, the drink and the beautiful landscape! It was truly a unique wedding that we walked away from thinking that it couldn’t have been anymore “them”!

From the Bride… Our wedding was a celebration not only of our union, but also the bounty of the season and the talent of local artists and farmers. From the design and printing of our invitations to the artful flower arrangements by our farmer and friend, Christina Dedora, our goal was to showcase everything we love about the New England coast. While simplistic, the details of the day were very deliberate and easy so that we could focus our energy on engaging with the many wonderful people who flew from all over the United States, and some from around the world, to spend time with us.

We owe so much gratitude to our caterers, Smoke and Pickles, who understood what we wanted and helped us craft a day that was low-key and fun. From the locally sourced meat and vegetables, the simple table settings, to the antique teapots on the tables, Smoke and Pickles just got it, and us.

My favorite moment was right after the ceremony when we were finally able to greet and chat with all our guests. Leo and I come from very different backgrounds, he growing up with a father in the movie business in Los Angeles and me growing up in a small town in Wisconsin, so seeing our two worlds collide was incredibly touching and truly awesome. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and soaking it all in — laughing, listening, celebrating– was such a joy.
