Now that Summer is in full swing, I’m missing my home state of Montana more than usual. The lakes, the mountains, the pine trees… it’s a Summertime heaven. Luckily for me (and you), I have this sweet Emerald Lake Lodge engagement shoot to help me over my home sickness. The breathtaking backdrop reminds me oh-so-much of Montana… and the adorable duo canoeing their heart out? Amazing. See every last moment captured by Darren Roberts Photography in the full gallery.
From the Bride-to-Be… Kevin and I knew each other in high school, one of my friends was dating one of his friends for a while, then I ran into him at Ranchmans in Calgary three years ago when he made me dance with him. Fast forward to a few months later, I invited him to play on my softball team for a tournament in my neighborhood and we ended up winning (and he was my MVP), we had our first date the next weekend in Penticton where I was for a stagette and he happened to be there for work. Then we started seeing each other and lived happily ever after.
Kev arranged a weekend at Emerald Lake during the winter, a place we often go to snowshoe, not to mention it’s my favorite place in the world. The second night we were there, he hid the ring in a matchbox and asked me to start the fire (I was being a bit difficult by saying that’s the man’s job). Eventually I agreed only to find my lovely ring. The neet thing, he had already asked my Dad three months prior!
