Ireland Wedding from Lisa O’Dwyer Photography

I suffer from a serious case of travel fever at all times. It’s something I will never be able to change, and my list of places I just have to visit continues to grow by the day. Ireland just happens to be resting comfortably at the top of my list at the moment, so this wedding (captured to stunning perfection by Lisa O’Dwyer Photography) is making my day like you wouldn’t believe. Because not only is the Emerald Isle setting the stage, but every detail of this wedding couldn’t be more perfect – so I am just throwing up my hands in surrender to this couldn’t-be-more-perfect destination soiree. See why here.

From the Bride…From the time of our engagement, we envisioned a ‘vintage’ destination wedding in Ireland. Joined by our closest friends and family, we spent the week touring the Emerald Isle culminating with our wedding on 10/11/12. Tweed vests, orange and blue TOMS shoes, and wool patchwork caps pulled together the men’s attire. The bridesmaids continued the “fogeyish” ambiance with cardigans, pearls, lace, and typewriter keys fastened to wildflower bouquets. Our first look was in the walled garden of Knappogue Castle in Quin, county Clare. We broke from tradition and made the night our own; enjoying ‘cake-shots’ and Ceili dancing with the local Strawboys at Vaughan’s Pub. Eric chose the boys outfits himself! The little typewriter key bouquet charms are from Stacia’s and are each bridesmaid’s initial. A traditional harpist was at the ceremony playing traditional music. They had a traditional Celtic handfasting ceremony was included as well. All destination planning by LA ex-pat Annie Byrne of Aislinn Events in County Kerry.
