From the jewelry designer… This bridal shoot was inspired by all the loveliness the Hamptons has to offer in spring. Perfect for any NYC bride wanting to escape the city for her wedding day. Entirely shot at public spaces in Southampton, this elegant open air wedding could easily be recreated in the Hamptons or any other such picturesque setting in New England. The bride and bridesmaids wear jewelry from the NYC based accessory line ‘KiraKira’.
Quiet, open and breathtaking, this location right off Old Town Road is perfect for a wedding ceremony especially in the spring when the cherry blossoms are peaking. Instead of creating a floral arbor we utilized a natural canopy of the branches, with the flowers filtering the afternoon light into a beautiful, softer blush tint for bridal portrait shots. The morning shower left the grass perfectly sprinkled with a confetti of pale pink petals. Full pink peonies, tea roses and contrasting bright green hydrangea in the bouquets from Topiaire (Southampton, 51 Jobs Ln) pulled in the colors of the landscape, spring green and pink.
The bride wore a simple textured gown reminiscent of fans or seashells and fuchsia sapphire drop earrings that drew from the pinks of the setting and bouquet. Gold bangles added a casual more bohemian romance to the the ensemble and an antique rose cut pink sapphire engagement ring added a nostalgic style but modern pop of color.
The maid of honor wore a blush shade that also reflected the pastel light under the trees and held a bouquet of fleshy white peonies tinged with pink. Lemon and lavender quartz drop earrings were subtle but wove in pastel, fresh colors. She also wore an antique opera length chain with a Kira Kira ‘Sakura’ (japanese for ‘cherry blossom’) charm. Designed by Suz Somersall, while she lived abroad in Japan, the front is decorated with the elegant silhouette of Sakura branches and the back of the charm reads a custom Kangi inscription.
Tea and desserts from the Blue Duck Bakery and a game of croquet to complete the New England charm. Antique jewelry, including deco aquamarine settings and emerald cut cocktail rings decorated the fingers and wrists of the bride and her maid of honor as they sipped tea and played croquet on the lawn. The mid 19th. century British tea set and place settings are family heirlooms. We loved the buttery yellow palate with touches of gold in the rope trimming.
The evening ended with a sunset on the beach. Branching, asymmetrical jewelry blended reflected the organic, simple setting of reeds by the water. On the beach the bride wears a coral inspired sterling necklace and the by the lake she has on a sea inspired cuff, drop earrings patterned from branching coral and a glittering druzy agate cocktail ring.
