From the Bride… Greg and I came to the conclusion that our wedding should be in New York – we met here, we dated here and Greg proposed to me (and I accepted) here. We both have large families and this always was going to be a big wedding, yet we wanted to find the best way to make it intimate and personal for ourselves and our guests. When we visited Tribeca Rooftop, we saw a beautiful, largely blank canvas with great windows and better views.

Although New York is close to home for many of our guests, we wanted the weekend to feel like a vacation. The hotel choice became almost as important as the reception venue. We fell in love with the Gramercy Park Hotel – it was big enough to fit all of our guests, provided park access, timeless rooms and an incredible rooftop terrace for our after party and next day brunch.

With the help of my amazing mother, a calm and extremely detail-oriented wedding planner, Lauren Sozmen from Loli Events and excellent vendors, the day went off better than we could have hoped.

We had a beautiful ceremony at St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral. My girlfriends (dressed in shades of grey) were escorted down the aisle by the dapper ushers; our sisters, wearing longer, slate gowns walked together. My sweet God daughter and 5 flower girls were seemingly dropped down from heaven to make our wedding beautiful. The ceremony was traditional, personal and a memory that stays with me every day.

Then, we got to party! The weather cooperated for our outdoor rooftop cocktail hour; we had a crimson sunset, an endless train of appetizers and cold passed Manhattans and French 75 cocktails.

Our reception was lovely and rowdy. The soft-toned pretty flowers and beautiful hanging wreaths smoothed out the industrial look of the room as did the millions of candles which made the room glow all night.

We felt so much love and support from our friends and family, who clearly came to celebrate. Our fun crowd cheered and danced the night away to our amazing band. The after party at the Gramercy Park continued well into the next morning and the brunch the next day was certainly a bonus. The best part? Thanks to our talented photographer, we have pictures that capture the love and spirit of the day we will never forget.
