If I could, I would host a tea party every day. You think I am joking, but I am soooo not. And if it was a Victorian-inspired tea party like this one from the talented team of Etablir, Kristen Booth and Fascinare? Twice a day just might be in order… and I would fill every last moment with fab paper good from KM Paperie and the yummiest of treats from Love ‘Em Sweet. Oh, and that tufted masterpiece? From Kristen Booth… My team and I are very excited to share this shoot with you! It was definitely a passionate project for all of us. This shoot was coordinated and put together by Vivian of Etablir Shop. We wanted to bring in soft and delicate details that would compliment the white gorgeousness of the Vibiana. Rather than try to do all of the describing myself, I let the vendors each share their inspiration…
From Etablir Shop… My inspiration began by picking one piece per set design. Without a doubt in mind, I knew I wanted the 1800’s Giltwood Tufted French Sofa to play a tremendous role in the photo shoot. So, I began to pick pieces based on the Victorian look and feel of the piece. The sofa is such a beauty in itself that no other piece needed to be placed next to it to be photographed.
My dessert and tea table design inspiration came from the love of afternoon tea. The colors were influenced by tea rooms I visited in Paris such as Laduree and Angelino. I incorporated an antique element such as the gold trimmed glass prism as the centerpiece to showcase the beautiful floral arrangement and cake that were designed by such talented vendors. Other little elements just magically fit in as I picked the centerpiece.
Afternoon tea is a place for people to enjoy tranquil time for tea accompanied by light foods and desserts. If I were to design a dessert and tea table, I must design a lounge area for people to enjoy the delights. I used white beaded lace linen as an overlay to the antique white round table. The main item to this set was the Royal Tea Pot. With the royal tea pot being the center of design, I place tea cups with a white lantern to give a more tranquil feel to the set. I draped the white lantern with pearls to give a little bit of balance to the linens.
The dinner reception table was designed to be a little bit more on the fancier side. It’s a time where people come in formal attire and enjoy good company with a good meal. I used different sets of china to make the table more interesting to look at over a pink and silver shimmer overlay. Desserts and flowers were place down the center of the table as décor and display items. The desserts were in mini display glass jars as a way to let people get an idea of what to enjoy after their meal.
From Fascinare… The floral design was inspired by Victorian vintage; therefore, the color scheme was composed by pastel pink, ivory, dusty green, and accent with the material lace. For flowers, I used Garden Roses, which were some of the most popular flowers during the Victorian period. Astilbes are also used to give the garden look, while Lisianthuses give a very soft touch to it. Plus, I used Dusty Millers, because of it’s unique texture and color that matches the vintage theme.
From Love ‘Em Sweet… The venue, Vibiana, was my inspiration for the cake. I wanted the cake to highlight the key features of the Vibiana which is romance, beauty and simplicity. The cupcake decor was inspired by the black and gold trays used in the table settings. I transformed it into brooch like toppers which helped tie in the vintage glam feel.
From KM Paperie… The design was inspired by a love of old classics, pure love and unbridled femininity. The thin delicate curls reflect a more romantic feel. The pinks and golds were colors made to be printed on the pearlescent linen paper.
