From the Bride…We had always talked about one day getting married at the Parker, so the night we got engaged I hopped on the computer and started researching. It was really the most perfect venue for us because of our love for mid century modern design and the young fun vibe that the Parker exudes. The most important thing for us was that the wedding be a big thank you to all of our friends and family for supporting our love throughout the years. It meant a lot that everyone had the best time possible, so we spent a lot time choosing music with hopes of an epic dance party, which is definitely what happened! The food was also a big deal for us, we are both huge foodies so making sure the food and wedding cake were delicious was really important as well.

Once we knew we had found our dream location I kind of let the hotels aesthetic help me decide on the colors, theme and decor. My engagement ring is an emerald so I knew that had to be one of the main colors in the decor and being that we were in the desert it worked out perfectly to incorporate green elements from the outdoors such as the succulents in my bouquet and the agave branch chuppah for the ceremony. I wanted the wedding to feel modern, romantic and whimsical which I think we achieved with the strands of lights across the courtyard and moroccan lanterns lining the walkway. I think one of my favorite things was the cake topper I ordered from Concarta, I really wanted a topper with a beard because Davids is such a trademark, so as soon as i found her shop on Etsy I knew I had to have one!

I am a perfectionist when it comes most things in life so lets just say planning this wedding stressed me out. In the beginning I had all of these ideas of having a completely DIY wedding which I quickly realized would be impossible for me to take on. I think that investing in an amazing coordinator to deal with all of the big projects was vital for me and in the end I still got to do a few DIY projects on my own like the menus, programs and place cards. I would tell other brides to have fun with planning and designing but try not to take on more than you can handle and get stressed to the point to where its not fun anymore!

My favorite memory of the night was the first dance with David to one of our favorite songs. Everyone kept telling us to plan a dance or take lessons but in the end we just winged it and I love how we just did what felt natural. I loved knowing that all of the most important people to us were there watching our first dance as man and wife!
