So many great weddings have a team of talented vendors behind them. Like little wedding elves, they fly around behind the scenes crafting their hearts into a beautiful celebration. The kind that has heart and soul and million and one beautiful details to pin. Those are the kind of events that Kristeen LaBrot is known for. From the Bride…Brian and I always knew we wanted a small, intimate wedding with close friends and family. Being very sentimental, I knew all the little details in planning the wedding would be what mattered most. The first and easiest decision we made was choosing the Fairmont Hotel & Bungalows in Santa Monica as our venue; as this is where Brian proposed to me. We knew this venue would be absolutely perfect. There is a grand fig tree that we loved and thought it would be amazing to get married under it. Planning all the design elements and floral arrangements was the most fun. A huge thank you to our families, their inspiration made this process effortless. The words we would use to describe the aesthetic we were going for are; elegant, traditional, dreamy and garden wedding and wanted that to come across in the overall design of our wedding. We put our personal touch on just about everything to make it our own. Mostly, we wanted to pay tribute to the family members who couldn’t be with us; in doing that we had to get creative. We incorporated books as an accent in the lounge area to pay tribute to Brian’s grandfather who was a writer and journalist, we used names of cities (Milan, Havana, Munich, Boston etc) that our families are from to identify each table for our guests, my father’s boutonniere was my grandmother’s favorite flower, each of the centerpieces had a pink ribbon to honor my sister Marlene and I walked down the aisle to “Here Comes the Sun” as it was the same song my father and step-mom got married to. To put my own personal touch on the design, I had figurines of elephants with their trunks up for good luck on all of the guest tables. I have always loved elephants and when I found these perfect little glitter elephants a huge smile came across my face and I knew they would be perfect. Future Brides, choose your vendors wisely…they are the key to having a stress free perfect day. We had the most amazing wedding planner (Kristeen LaBrot) who connected us to all right vendors, they all understood our vision and made our special day everything we dreamt of. This wedding was labor of love and we could not be happier with the outcome.
