It’s not always fun to start the 9 to 5 after coming off an extra long weekend. We totally get it. But to make this Tuesday transition a wee bit easier, we’ve planned a lineup of weddings that take “pretty” to whole new level. Weddings like this New England affair that’s classic elegance to the very core. Designed at the hands of KDJ Botanica, it’s everything I dream of when “backyard wedding” comes to mind, layered with formality and tradition. From Melani Lust Photography… One of the most beautiful weddings I have ever photographed, thanks to the incredible work of Katherine at KDJ Botanica, whose genius transformed the grounds of the home of the bride and groom into a fairy tale wedding, understated and elegant. The ceremony took place in the side yard, where urns of flowers created a beautiful space, furniture, flowers and potted trees – brought in and made for the occasion, encouraged guests to lounge. Sperry Tents provided two tents, one of which took a week to construct over unstable land. The other tent covered a pool, which had a plexiglass cover over lights that were placed in the pool by scuba divers, transforming it into a dance floor. The couple met on a blind date arranged by their parents. The party had 70 guests, intimate, but large enough to feel like a party. Peter Callahan’s miniature hors d’oeuvres delighted all who were there. The groom’s cake, an Audi R8, thrilled us all, especially when the groom exclaimed “This goes against everything I believe in,” as he had to cut into it (he owns the local Audi dealership, as well as an R8.)
