Classic Newcastle Wedding from Wanted Imagery

From the moment I read the words “classic” and “elegant” in this beautiful bride’s description, I knew I was going to love this wedding.  Love, love, love this wedding.  Because the combination of sweet traditional details and a breathtaking Newcastle backdrop?  A little something I like to call “mesmerizing.” From the gorgeous bouquets by Susie Parry-Clarke to the stunning lace gown by Hawaii Princess Brides to the pretty pink and blue hues, it’s classic meets whimsical perfection from start to finish.  See it all captured by Wanted Imagery right here.

Colors

From the Bride… Our wedding day theme was “classic elegance”.  The neutral pallet was developed with a base of soft ivory (my full lace dress) which was layered with the coral of the bridesmaids 1950’s style dresses and delicately finished with the beauty of antique roses. Our dresses were brought together with matching sashes which we had made from an extra piece of fabric from my dress.  The groomsmen complemented the bridesmaid colors with a light grey suit and ivory shirt that was accented with a light coral, pink and ivory stripe colored tie. I have always loved wedding stationery and DIY projects so when I finally got the chance to DIY my own wedding I wanted to do everything I could. I undertook many DIY projects for our wedding day, these included our heart fan programs, our guest signing tree, the menus, the cake topper, the table seating plan, our table decorations and Bonbonieres. I wish I had started making things sooner so that I could have made more pieces.  Of these, the biggest project by far was our invitations.

One of my favourite DIY projects would have to be our Bonbonieres. We bought white boxes and placed a Gladiolus bulb inside (the flowers from our tables) with a poem that read “Every year when the flower blooms, think of your favourite Bride and Groom”. It is really lovely to visit friends houses and see these growing.  We had a wonderful day, it expressed both Chris and I as a couple. It was simple, elegant and classically beautiful and I wouldn’t change a thing.
