Adorable duos and adorable weddings? We love them. Which is why this gorgeous Thomas Estate affair is like the perfect way to start off our week here on SMP California. Because not only is this pretty little affair chock-full of adorability (it soooo is), it’s also boasting some of the sweetest details you will ever see. I’m talking a candy + donut bar (YES), an ice cream truck (!) and some crazy beautiful florals from Flower Divas. And the images captured by Carlie Statsky? Beyond pretty. From the Bride… During our very first visit of The Thomas Estate, I fell in love with the venue right away! I remember the property owner, Joanie Thomas, asking us at the end of our visit if my husband and I were still interested in the venue and my husband said, “Umm… judging by the look and smile on my fiance’s face, I think Yes is the only option.”
The Thomas Estate really helped tie our vision of a country chic outdoor wedding. The estate was so accommodating with space that we were able to have the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, dancing, dessert/candy bar, photo booth, and a mobile soft-serve ice cream truck located in different areas of the estate but still in close proximity that it still kept with an intimate wedding setting for our 270 guests.
There were a few vendors we absolutely wanted to work with. We had our fingers crossed for uber-talented photographer Carlie Statsky, the amazing Mimi & Taylor Artistry Team for hair and makeup, Flower Divas for beautiful floral arrangements and Le’s Kitchen to cater a delicious eight-course banquet. We were lucky enough to book all four!
We did not use a wedding planner to design our wedding. So for me, the most special part of the whole wedding experience was the involvement my husband had in the planning and DIY projects. A vision shared by the two of us which he executed on so many levels. From the building of a wooden wheelbarrow to carry the parasols to the wooden program keeping our guests informed of the wedding schedule, designing his robots and donuts candy bar, creating a pom pom/pinwheel photo backdrop, scouring of the web to find tin robots, choosing the song I would walk down the aisle to, custom made wedding favors, stationery projects and meanwhile doing all of it with a genuine smile on his face. He was involved in every step of the way, making our wedding day that much more special for me, our family and our friends!
After 13 years of dating, we are happy to become Mr. & Mrs. Nguyen!
