Rain on a wedding day? I am a firm believer that it is fabulous. After years of pouring (pun intended) over rainy day fêtes, I’ve come to the conclusion they always end up being my favorite. Maybe it’s how the Groom carries the umbrella over his gorgeous Bride in such a chivalrous way, or perhaps it’s intimate mood the sky sets – but what I really love is knowing that even though the weather wasn’t perfect – to these two newlyweds, it was their perfect. From Brandi Welles Photographer… Katherine and Willy wanted to incorporate the rustic charm of their venue, with the glamour of a Southern California wedding. For starters, Katherine and Willy booked their wedding at Strawberry Farms, which is a quaint farmhouse, located in the heart of Orange County. The details of their wedding played off of this theme well, by incorporating delicate white roses, navy bridesmaids dresses and green Hydrangeas. Due to the rainy weather, they had to move their ceremony into the barn. However, it provided a cozy, warm, and intimate setting for their guests, and highlighted their rustic details with ease. At the reception, Katherine and WIlly incorporated warm candlelight into their clean color palette, and delicious apple, boysenberry, and cherry pies, rather than a traditional wedding cake. Really adding to the country charm of their party. Even though it rained that afternoon, we were able to get several romantic portraits of Katherine and Willy cuddling up under an umbrella, accenting both the country atmosphere and sophistication of a Southern California wedding.
