Cape Cod Wedding from Forever Photography Studio

Reading love stories simply never will get old to me. And I do believe my heart will always pitter patter when I come across a story as sweet as this couple’s. That darling tale lead them down the aisle of their perfectly Cape Cod wedding, which is something I’ll simply never tire of either. Forever Photography Studio was on hand to captured every gorgeous moment, leaving us with a gallery that shouldn’t be missed. See it all here.

From the Bride… Eric and I met in 2007 while living in New York City. The first summer we were dating he did a share house in East Hampton with some friends and me, it was that summer that I fell in love with him and knew that someday he was going to be the man I would walk down the aisle to! However, between that summer and the wedding our lives took many twists and turns. I went to business school at Notre Dame then took a job in a leadership rotational program, moving every 8 months. Eric was working as a consultant so was able to move with me each time. Then in July of 2011, it was Eric’s turn to go back to school to pursue his MBA. I was doing a rotation in Chicago and he was headed to school at the University of Southern California. Just before leaving for LA, he made me the happiest girl in the world by asking me to marry him!

Like most brides, I had been waiting my whole life to plan my wedding and luckily Eric was happy to let me run with the plans. He had 2 deal breaker criteria however: his tux & the cake. He wanted to buy a nice, timeless tux and not only must there be cake, it had to be out for the whole reception. We had been to many weddings where the cake is cut while everyone is dancing and then taken away before anyone eats it, my groom wanted it available as long as possible! We compromised with a cake and also a Ben & Jerry’s ice cream bar, which was a big crowd pleaser.

I loved the idea of something outdoors with natural elements, but still elegant and classic. We stumbled upon a private estate in Truro that seemed perfect. My grandparents lived on the Cape when I was growing up so it was a special place for my family and me, and Eric loved the idea as well. At that point we moved forward planning a week long wedding celebration for our family & friends. I spent countless hours on Pinterest and wedding blogs looking for just the right décor and tablescape ideas, choosing vendors and dreaming of the big day! Wanting to have unique touches throughout without breaking the budget I looked for creative ways to cut some costs. For instance, finding a classic car to ride to and from the Chapel was not easy. So I went on the Facebook page for Cape Cod Classic Cars and posted asking if anyone was interested in working with a bride & groom on their wedding day. I got a number of responses and fell in love with one of the cars & the owner, Jeff, was great he even stayed for our cocktail hour to celebrate with us!

Most of our guests began to arrive at the Cape on Thursday and we kicked off the fun with a whale watching trip that exceeded everyone’s expectations and a dinner at Bayside Betsy’s in Provincetown (where the lobster ravioli is to die for!) Friday after the rehearsal we had another informal party with our guests. It was so fun for all the people we love from many different parts of our lives to get to know each other and mingle the days leading up to the wedding.

My favorite part of the wedding day was our vows during the ceremony. We decided to recite traditional vows but also read personal vows to one another. I was blown away by the emotion evoked hearing a unique pledge of love by the person I care about the most in this world, Eric’s words have stayed with me every day since. As I look back on it all, I can sum it up by saying that our wedding was all about love. Not only our love for one another but the love we felt from the amazing friends & family in our lives. We spent over a year planning the smallest of details, but learned that it is the things you cannot plan that make a wedding so memorable…the joy of having all the people you care about in one place, seeing friends sharing stories with parents, cousins dancing with classmates and everyone lending hands to help make the day one that we could never forget!
