From the beautiful bride … My vision for our big day was for it to look “Vintage-Modern,” which Justin will eternally make fun of me for because he thinks that’s an oxymoron. I will eternally try and prove him wrong with every decorative decision I make. I was stuck in a rut, that I think many destination brides get in, of thinking that we had to have bright colors and Bird’s of Paradise for flowers, which really wasn’t us. When I realized I could have lace and light pink and Scrabble and still get married on the beach, it finally all came together.

There were so many details that I loved. I think the Scrabble place cards were were really cool and made everyone feel special, plus they were a nod to our geeky side. I really loved the table settings as a whole. Having family wedding pictures was a neat way for us to tie in our love of photos, family, and vintage. I also adored our ring bearer pillow, which my mom hand embroidered and surprised us with.

The very best part of the day was when Justin and I first saw each other. We were able to recreate the moment we first met back in 2007. The day of the wedding, I walked down the same path and Justin sat in the same spot that we did the day we met. It’s one amazing thing to have met in Costa Rica, and an extraordinary thing to be married in the same place 5 years later. Walking into that hotel lobby was the best thing I have ever done in my life, twice.
