From the Bride… Ricky and I shared a very similar vision of what we wanted our wedding day to be. More than anything, we wanted our day to be laid back and unhurried, but still elegant. Our hope was that our guests genuinely enjoyed themselves, and left knowing us a little better as a couple.

Our families are very important to us, and we incorporated a lot of little details to include them in our special day. Ricky’s uncle performed our ceremony, which was so personal and special to us, and my uncle said the blessing before dinner. We also used heirloom candlesticks, that were a wedding gift from my Great Aunt, to flank the floral arrangement that was the backdrop for our ceremony. Also, a family tradition on my side is to make an Italian cookie table. My hope was that we could create a dessert table that featured the cookies and our favorite cupcakes. We knew that we did not want a wedding cake, but instead opted for cupcakes from our favorite cupcake spot in downtown St. Petersburg. My aunts and uncles made family recipes, and we displayed them on beautiful cookie trays. We had something for everyone, and our guests filled to-go boxes full of treats to take home with them.

As a wedding day surprise for Ricky, I had our German Shepherd, Reno, brought to the venue for pictures. He is our favorite boy, and having him there was a highlight for both of us. Our wonderful photographer, Gina, captured all of the special moments and details that filled our day. Her style of photography perfectly reflected the soft color pallet I wanted, and made every image look so romantic. I loved seeing our wedding through her eyes. We could not be happier with the memories she captured for us.
