I’d be willing to bet my bottom dollar that this wedding will become a new all-time fave. Why? Because when you mix the California coast with a modern pink party, you know you’re in for a serious treat. Sweet Emilia Jane helped this style-savvy bride plan the blueprints for the day (which included a whole lot of ombre, a bit of chevron plus a 1,000 paper cranes!) and OneLove Photo captured it all to perfection. From the Bride…We are both born and raised in Southern California so we wanted our wedding day to feel like a modern, intimate party filled with romantic florals, gorgeous views and our favorite people. As an event planner, I had a million ideas running through my head but thankfully Sweet Emilia Jane was able to help us create a gorgeous blueprint that gave us direction and kept us focused. We incorporated ombre hues of blush, peach and coral, a touch of chevron, a few nods to our cultures and lots of DIY projects. The biggest being our 1,000 paper crane (Senbazuru) backdrop hand-dyed in our wedding colors. The night was filled with incredible food, sake toasts, lots of laughing and love. The best decision we made was to hire a group of incredible wedding vendors who were excited about our vision, had a great body of work/experience, and who we completely trusted. On the Wednesday before the wedding, on their way down to our house to help prep for the big day, my parents were in a pretty bad car accident. They both ended up in the hospital and my mom was released (against doctor’s orders) right before the rehearsal dinner. Needless to say, I was a hot mess and honestly couldn’t care less about how the napkins were folded or if all the projects were completed. It was such a relief to have Emilia take the reigns those last few days and put together our dream wedding. My biggest piece of advice is to surround yourself with an incredible team. Take your time to hire the right vendors and make your wedding a reflection of you as a couple.
