Orcas Island Wedding from Chudleigh Weddings

When it comes to weddings, there’s just no such thing as too much white. And when that wedding happens to be an Ocras Island affair (a hidden gem off of Washington state), white-on-white is the perfect palette for the occasion. Chudleigh Weddings captured all the “I do” elegance, and there’s SO much more waiting right here!

From the Bride…Orcas Island is such a special place to be married. Our family and friends could be spotted all over the island, taking in the sights and outdoor excursions this little rock has to offer. People went shopping and the quaint boutique stores, whale watching, kayaking, and hiking. On our big day, the weather was amazing! We chose our location on Orcas because it was so rustic and had such a great view.  It also really showcased the state of Washington in all of its splendor.

I knew that Brandt’s Beach would be the perfect backdrop for our photos and well as provide a large space that people could not only attend the wedding, but also go for a walk , play yard games and sit and sip some wine while taking in the view. We chose the color palette, so that it would be set off by the rustic character of the venue. The whites were so natural, yet elegant at the same time. I am a huge anthropologie fan, and styled a lot of the table decor with that asethic in mind. My Mom and I helped my Mother-In-Law make the glass upcycled candle holders, which added a fun DIY touch. I used a lot of glass and modern shapes to offset and dress up the vintage, found items that were incorporated in to the design.

Our wedding was designed for people to enjoy a party in the way they like to participate, we had lounging areas for those who wanted to sit and chat, an upbeat dance floor for those wanting to move, and a fire on the beach for those wanting to just hang out and enjoy the sunset. For Jason and I the day included so many great moments from the kayakers paddling by our ceremony, our tears and laughter during our vows, sharing wine from the winery we work at with our guests, inviting all of the guests to come out to the beach and watch the sunset, see a bi-plane come in for a landing and  sail above the beach while waving at the crowd below, and of course experiencing the love and laughter of all of our friends and family that came together to help us celebrate!
