Watsons Bay Wedding from Lara Hotz Photography + White Rabbit Projects

It’s taken me a little longer than usual to put words to this wedding. And it’s not because it’s not dripping in details, because it definitely is thanks to White Rabbit Projects. It’s just because words don’t quite do these images from Lara Hotz Photography justice. How can you possibly put words to the Bride’s custom VELANI gown? You can’t. Because try as they might, even the most fabulous adjectives don’t stand up. So spend a little time in this gorgeous gallery to see exactly what I am talking about, the images speak for themselves. It’s all waiting for you here.

From the Bride… Our wedding day was simply put, the best day of our lives. One thing that worried me was the weather and what it would be doing but we ended up with a 25 degree day and sunshine, doesn’t get much better than that! The last thing I wanted was the boys to be sweltering in their suits. We had a beautiful ceremony under the fig tree at Dunbar House in Watson’s Bay in front of 110 of our closest friends and family. I walked down the aisle to Etta James ‘At Last’ which is such a beautiful song.

The reception was held in Dunbar House – and this is where the real party started! We had beautiful food, Bollinger champagne and fabulous music. The speeches were (in my opinion) the best speeches I’d ever heard at a wedding, and quite a few people contacted me in the days after to say the same thing. After cutting the cake, my husband and I took our first dance together to Al Green ‘Let’s Stay Together’, then the dj’s ramped it up so the guests could join the dance floor with Kaskade’s ‘It’s You, It’s Me’. The rest of the evening was just all about dancing and everyone really getting into party mode.

It was without a doubt the best day/night of our lives, one I want to relive over and over again! At the end of the night, guests stopped at our beautiful candy buffet on their way out to take home gorgeous lolly bags which had been stamped with our initials full of delicious lollies and chocolates and a cupcake (or 2!). There was also a station set up with brown paper and twine so guests could take home some flowers – we had a lot of flowers! Beautiful pink peonies and cream david austin roses. This was such a great idea by my florist Jordana at Wilder, as I hated the idea of all of those beautiful flowers going to waste!
