Maravilla Gardens Wedding from Marianne Wilson Photography

However I may try to say it, this wedding at the Maravilla Gardens is simply as sweet as they come. It’s the type of wedding you take one look at and you notice a unstoppable grin forming on your face, and try as you might, you can’t help but pin each and every detail. From the happy florals to the vibrant color palette and everything in between, it’s a wedding worth getting lost in for awhile. And thanks to Marianne Wilson Photography we have gorgeous gallery to do just that. See it all here.

From the Bride… Our wedding day was the culmination of a year-long DIY-filled planning adventure. After 6 years of dating, starting in our college days at UC Berkeley, Blake proposed while we were vacationing in Thailand. We immediately began brainstorming our ideal wedding day, and after finding the beautiful Maravilla Gardens in Santa Rosa Valley, California, our vision was complete. Having both grown up in sunny, laid-back California, plus Blake’s strong family ties to New Orleans, we knew we wanted an outside, unfussy, relaxed wedding day filled with sun, good food and a touch of Southern hospitality. I was drawn to bright colors, which my florist labeled as a “sunset” palette, to compliment the beauty of the gardens, and a rustic feel with touches of lace inspired by my dress.

We spent the year making our day come to life, with much help from our family. Homemade touches included burlap table runners (who knew my dad would be so skilled in burlap cutting), cute cocktail straws and flags from my mother-in-law, our chalkboard menu sign constructed by Blake’s high school friend and written by my maid of honor (teachers have excellent handwriting!), and a lovingly hand-knit shawl from my mom to keep me warm from the night chill. We were supported by such amazingly talented vendors (our florist – Belle of the Ball; photographer – husband and wife team from Marianne Wilson Photography; make-up and hair stylist – Label Me Lindsay; DJ Anthony Soike – from Red Shoe LA; Command Performance catering – who customized our Cajun meal; and of course, our day-of coordinator and responder to our many questions leading up to the wedding – Jen Loller from Maravilla Gardens), and we had, literally, not one worry on the day of our wedding. If only we could have stopped time, we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect, magical wedding day.
