There are farm weddings, and then there are farm weddings like this one captured by T & S Hughes Photography. A wedding that defines timeless and understated elegance, hosted in a place where charms seeps through the walls. From T & S Hughes Photograph... Christian & Vibeke are both from Oslo, Norway. On a separate trip to Finland, they happened to have dinner at Westerby Gard, a country farm restaurant and hotel. After seeing the venue and taken by its charm, they decided to have their wedding there. It’s a beautiful venue, full of rustic and vintage warmth but outfitted with modern decor and furniture. Westerby Gard frequently hosts weddings, and so the staff is more than capable to making the event special.
Getting friends and family there was the tricky part! Even the maid-of-honor initially flew to the wrong airport in Finland, but everything worked out and everyone who was supposed to be there was. Guests stayed at the hotel at Westerby Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and enjoyed all their meals together. The food was amazing and the atmosphere felt like something out of a story book.
The wedding in terms of vendors was pretty simple. We provided photography coverage. Westerby Gard was the venue, caterer, and lodging. Guests rented vehicles and drove to Westerby from Helsinki, Finland, about an hour and a half drive away. Vibeke had her hair styled at a nearby salon in Ingå. The town provided the perfect backdrop and setting for this charming and intentional wedding.
