When it comes to crafting a day chock-full of meaningful details, this adorable Homeland duo really knows how it’s done. From draping grandma’s quilts on the back of the church pews to creating a yummy pie bar (LOVE) to decorating the reception space with furniture from their very own home, they made sure every single moment was a true reflection of their lives together… and of their love. From Peach Blossom Photography… Cynthia and Dustin had a beautiful vintage Florida wedding with a palette in soft pink and green and was dripping with Rustic Charm. She choose a gorgeous lace gown with pink sash that tied the whole them of “Rustic Charm” together.
The Bride and Groom chose Homeland Heritage Park Church as their ceremony location because of its charm. The Church was built in 1887. The Park’s school was built in 1878 and served as a great place for a few photos. You can see a lot of Cynthia’s fun whimsical side throughout the wedding – especially when we put Dustin in the dunce cap!
The Antique Truck was a must have for Cynthia. It was a great prop for the photographs. During the ceremony, her grandmother’s quilts were hung on the back of the pews and one was placed under the programs in the front of the church. The rings were carried down the aisle attached to her grandmother’s bible. It was important to the two of them to use sentimental touches of family heirlooms throughout.
As for the reception, Cynthia used her great decorating skills and most of her home furniture to make the wedding unique. Cynthia and Dustin incorporated their love for pies and created a unique Pie Bar in lieu of a traditional wedding cake. They used old milk bottles to do a milk toast instead of the traditional champagne. Cynthia being the amazing DIY Bride and design guru was able to plan the whole wedding for less than her original budget. For me this was a very special wedding, Cynthia and I share the same love for whimsical photographs and it was also the first time I was commissioned to photograph a wedding in my hometown.
