From the bride … As if Cinco de Mayo, the Kentucky Derby and the year’s Supermoon were not enough to celebrate– we decided to get married on May 5, 2012 in Vero Beach, Florida. The sun, sand and tropical palm tree breeze made for a wedding celebration in paradise. Following the wedding mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church, guests were welcomed poolside with pink champagne and an extravagant seafood bar at the Orchid Island Beach Club. Custom made escort cards with pearl head pins were displayed on an elaborate gold and Alencon lace board to direct guests to their table.
Following cocktail hour, guests indulged in a colorful and delicious dinner of truffle grapefruit vinaigrette citrus salad & a dual entree of lobster and filet mignon, stuffed spinach artichoke bottoms, roasted tomatoes and fingerling potatoes. The Orchid Island’s Beach Club green walls, the stunning views of the blue ocean’s water and the vibrant corals and pinks used to make the floral centerpieces gave the room a playful, tropical and colorful flair.
Assorted Lilly Pulitzer patterned picture frames served as table numbers and added to the ballroom’s festive decor. Dessert featured over six cupcake flavors created by Casereccio Speciality & Fine Cakes (a previous winner of Cupcake Wars and one of the four remaining contestants now on The Next Great Baker) — chocolate fudge sundae, mocha cappuccino, lemon summer berry chiffon, champagne strawberry and key west key lime topped with a glistening fresh fruit. Guests danced the night away under a breathtaking “Supermoon” (the largest full moon of the year) to the tunes of Jerry Wayne’s Private Party Band.
Flower girl dresses for our 3 nieces were each hand embellished with a pearl sash and bow matching their pearl monogrammed satin lace and pearl flower girl baskets. Handmade satin, Alencon lace and pearl Ring Pillows were carried by our nephews and hand assembled, ribbon tied and lace punch detailed Wedding Mass Programs.
