I love weddings and I love to talk about weddings, so to say it’s rare that I am at a loss for words would be a serious understatement. Until today. Because this gorgeous Hillsborough affair from the geniuses at Outlined Productions? It’s leaving me all kinds of speechless… and then some. On my list of oh-so-fabulous reasons? The chic black and red color palette, the Old Hollywood vibe and the beyond breathtaking al fresco setting. From the Bride… The Crocker Farm House was offered to us through my father’s best friend. It’s an old farm house from the mid-1800’s that used to be horse stables before being converted into a home. I spent some time at the house in my early childhood, splashing around in the pond and jumping into the pool during the summertime with my siblings. We always wanted to get married outside with the scenery as our backdrop and the Crocker Farm House really brought together our vision.
Florist and bridesmaid, Becky Reinhart-Polanski arranged all the floral arrangements, bringing the whole romantic vision to life. Flowers were a mix of Black Baccara Roses, Red Freedom Roses, Black Dahlia, Purple Stock, and Purple Trachelium. My dress was made of cotton & silk and the gown was from the Vineyard Collection for Priscilla of Boston. I made my veil and the gloves were vintage and purchased online. My gold statement necklace was by Bella Noel. The Bridesmaid dresses were Silk taffeta by Jim Hjelm. The groomsmen wore black suits from a mix of designers of their choice and the groom was dressed in head to toe Tom Ford.
Wedding bands were designed by Jeweler Nick Engal, and my engagement ring is a non-traditional 1950’s diamond cocktail ring. Jamal and I both share a love for vintage/Old Hollywood Glam aesthetics, which inspired the deep red color palette for florals and the black, white linens and wedding attire.
We had 100 ambre (White to black) paper windmills that lined the side of the ceremony area. Two sets of corn hole games set up at the reception for guests to play. Instead of having a cake, we had a pie stand set up for guests to help themselves throughout the night as well as a vintage popcorn machine, since the groom’s favorite food is popcorn. The night ended with over two hundred sparklers lighting the event as everyone danced and sang while the night drew to a happy end.
