Toronto Wedding from Claudia Hung

Perfection.  This wedding is absolute perfection.  Which makes more than complete sense, since the bride happens to be an uber-talented photog and her charming groom is, well, dapper times a million. Together they crafted a totally fabulous, totally beautiful DIY day (in just six weeks!) complete with the world’s most beautiful BCBG gown and a downright magical jazz-filled reception.  See every last gorgeous moment captured by Claudia Hung in the full gallery.  It’s a can’t miss.

From the Bride… What can I say about our wedding except that it was exactly what it should be. From the laid-back-ness of the day to the spontaneous downpour at the most crucial time. Being a wedding photographer and a bride has its pros and cons. The downside is that it seems I’ve seen it all which makes me feel like it’ll be impossible to make the day “special”…the upside is that I know tons of amazing vendors! Another upside to things is that I know for a certain what I love and what I hate after years of “research”. We planned our marvelous day in 6 weeks (that’s right ladies…SIX WEEKS!!!!!), I mean..why wait right?

Our special day took place on our friends very large backyard on the outskirts of Toronto where we dined on ribs under a tent with its own constellation. Christmas lights strung around to make you wanna cozy up under the tent…or was that the effect of the rain? Jazz mixed with conversation and rain blanketed around us as we feasted in the moment. It was a night to remember.

As a photographer I wanted our wedding to be photogenic (does that make sense?) so I paid attention to detail. My wedding dress was inspired by gwyneth paltrow’s oscar dress by Tom Ford. I picked my dress because it had movement and I knew that it would have a personality of its own when photographed. Because I wanted it to have a personal touch (and we were on a budget) we did all the decorations ourselves, that includes the flowers. We selected our flowers from Costco and ordered in bulk! I loved that we made our own bouquets and arrangements. I also borrowed a ton of stuff from my previous brides which was amazing! On top of that my bridesmaids made cushions for our seats as well as the table runners.
